QOREX founding partners bring over 50-years experience in development and commercialization of fiber optic components and sensor systems, with team experience and expertise spanning both the technical and commercial aspect of successfully bringing these products to market.
Paul E. Sanders heads up the technical marketing and business analysis side of QOREX. Prior to founding QOREX he was head of technology acquisition and special projects at Weatherford. These projects included refinement of downhole cable design and supply chain management, market analysis and launch of a high-temperature steam-flood monitoring system, and specialty fiber spin-out activity.
Paul also came to Weatherford from the CiDRA acquisition, where he was Vice President of business development with overall sales and marketing responsibility for the company’s optical network and test and measurement products. Prior to CiDRA, he directed marketing and business development at Uniphase Telecommunication Products that later formed JDS Uniphase.
Prior to Uniphase, Mr. Sanders held various technical and managerial roles with 3M Corporation, and was a principal in the launch of 3M’s specialty fiber and Bragg grating businesses. Mr. Sanders earned a BS in Chemistry and is a member OSA. Trevor W. MacDougall heads up the technology side of QOREX. Prior to forming QOREX he was Director of Engineering for Weatherford Intelligent Completions business unit where he had overall responsibility for product engineering and field support of Weatherford’s industry-leading optical sensing systems, as well as new product development.
Trevor joined Weatherford through their acquisition in 2002 of CiDRA Corporation’s optical sensor unit, where he held a number of technical management roles including Bragg Grating fabrication and sensor concept and optical transducer design.
Before CiDRA, he was a Senior Specialist in 3M Corporations’ specialty fiber and Bragg grating businesses. While at 3M he was a visiting scientist at the NIST center in Boulder Colorado, performing research on optical current sensors. Mr. MacDougall is a recognized expert in fiber optic sensing technology and serves on the Technical Planning Committee of the joint IEEE/OSA Optical Fiber Sensor conference. Mr. MacDougall holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering, has published over 15 technical papers and is the inventor on 27 patents.
